UNISAL El Salvador and the San José Salesian Work Vocational Training Center Promote Youth Entrepreneurship Program with Social Impact

In August 2024, UNISAL El Salvador and the San José Salesian Work Vocational Training Center signed an agreement marking the beginning of a strategic alliance to promote youth entrepreneurship in El Salvador. Both institutions share the mission of supporting young people in vulnerable situations, providing them with tools and opportunities for their personal and professional development.

As part of this alliance, the "A Little Piece of El Salvador" project was created. This initiative seeks to empower young Salvadoran entrepreneurs by offering them a platform to promote and market their products at Latin American cultural festivals in the United States. Through this project, these young people are given the opportunity to showcase their talents, generate income, and strengthen their cultural identity, while contributing to sustainable change in their communities.

The project's first opportunity came during the 34th Charlotte Latin American Festival (CLT), one of the most important multicultural events organized by the Latin American Coalition, the first Latino organization established in North Carolina. At this cultural celebration, six Salvadoran entrepreneurs were selected to represent the country with unique products that reflect the creativity, tradition, and resilient spirit of Salvadoran youth.

Among the products displayed and for sale were handmade religious items, personalized keychains, handcrafted jewelry, carved wooden figures, original designer handbags, and paintings that capture the essence of El Salvador. Each piece represents a story of overcoming challenges and hope, crafted with dedication by young people who today dream of transforming their future.
